The K House

Roccamare, Castiglione della Pescaia, Grosseto

The K House is located in Roccamare, a location that grew out of a “gated community” project developed by architect Ugo Miglietta beginning in 1963. The original building was a vacation home with a flat roof and stone cladding, located a few meters from the pristine sea of Maremma.

The house, with flat roof and stone cladding, is reminiscent of Frank Lloyd Wright’s style. The current owners requested a major renovation while maintaining the original principles of construction.

The result is a villa with essential and rigorous lines that dialogues with its surroundings. The space revolves around the large central hall, which offers views of the surrounding nature. The interior is almost monastic, because it is the outside that plays the leading role, captivating with its colors, scents and the sound of the sea.
